4th of July parade

The parade was a huge success! We all had alot of fun, but it was very tiring, holding the clutch and going about 5mph!

Saturday wasnt a particularly hot morning, but in the sun it was roughly 110 degrees in the car!
Fortunatly there were plenty of spectators who had water guns as well as one man with a hose, who filled our water bottle, and kindly soaked my friend Rusty who was 2 cars ahead of me!

Most people didnt understand alot of the stickers on my car, but those who knew what drifting is were very happy to see us.

About me and what I do

S14 "Kouki"Image via Wikipedia

I drive a 1995 Nissan 240sx, otherwise known as an S14 (Mine is white).
I have been drifting for about 5 years now, and have learned alot in that time.

Drifting for me is a passion, one of those things that never gets boring, its always exciting and different. The thrill of flying around a corner, tires complaining, cloud of smoke behind you and its such an adrenaline rush that once you do it, or ride with someone it gets into your blood. Drifting is not a cheap sport or an "easy" sport to get into. While there are ways to make it cheap and easy, the basic principle is you need a rear wheel drive car, a good suspension setup and a lot of practice. It also helps to find people who are into drifting and hang out with them and learn from them.

I am part of a car club known as Touge Spec. We are a mixed group that also does Rally, AutoCross and drag racing. We started as just a group of guys that love to take some winding mountain roads at a fast pace and really hammer into it. We evolved into a group of close friends who love driving period.

This weekend we are driving as a club in the Hillsboro 4th of July parade to show the communty what we are all about, and that yes we can go slow too. :)
